The goal of a relaxation massage is to melt away muscle tension and allow the client to unwind. Swedish Massage techniques are applied to increase blood flow to the heart and promote total body relaxation. Swedish Massage is one of the most common massages used and ironically, was not created by anyone from Sweden. Light to medium pressure is applied during this massage so this treatment is ideal for anyone who just needs a reprieve.
If you're expecting, we are excited to treat you and help relieve some of the effects pregnancy has on the body. It is suggested to wait until you are out of your first trimester before receiving a pregnancy massage. If you are experiencing any complications during your pregnancy, we ask for a Doctor's note. Throughout this massage, you will lay on your side and a pregnancy pillow will be positioned on the table. Light to medium pressure will be applied to the body. The abdomen, wrists, ankles and webs of thumbs are avoided to keep your little one safely tucked away until their birthday. Prenatal massage is an incredibly soothing and bonding experience for you and your baby and many of our clients have stated that it was one of the best massages they've ever received!
Also known as Deep Tissue Massage, therapeutic massage is beneficial for those with chronic muscle pain, more severe tension or someone recovering from an injury. Firm to deep pressure is used to manipulate the musculature beneath the surface and break down knots or trigger points throughout the body. Therapeutic massage when exercised on a consistent basis can alleviate pain, improve range of motion and prevent muscles from returning to their holding patterns.
Basalt river stones are warmed in a roaster and added to the massage throughout the session to send you into total relaxation and comfort. The stones are formed from volcanic rock and contain many different types of minerals making them capable of retaining heat. The stones sit on river beds where they get tumbled and polished by water and other stones. This treatment combines the elements fire, water, air and earth for a healing and truly moving experience!
Need a unique date idea for your significant other or friend? Give couples massage a try! Two massage tables and two massage therapists will be present to provide a wonderfully relaxing full body massage experience, simultaneously. Please call at least two weeks prior to your expected visit to allot for scheduling time and coordinating.
Utilizing a portable massage chair, the client can remain seated and clothed; therefore, lotion is not typically needed. Since chair massage is less invasive, it is ideal for someone who may have apprehension getting on the massage table or for on-site massage in a corporate setting.
What is reflexology? It is a unique therapy using compression techniques of the reflex points only on the hands or feet which correspond to other parts of the body. Since there are nerve endings in the hands and feet, pressure is applied to the reflex points and the nervous system will carry messages to the correlating body part, telling it to release toxins and remove any blockages. It is used to treat the entire body rather than a specific condition. Reflexology is a noninvasive treatment that complements preventative healthcare and is known to normalize body functions, relieve headaches and tension, improve sleep, cleanse the body, and increase circulation. Besides, who doesn't love a good hand or foot massage?
Infant massage can be a valuable tool in your toolbox as touch is the first sense to develop. Some of the benefits of massaging your child are a strengthened immune system, healthier sleep, relief from gas pains or teething discomfort, and stimulation of physical and emotional development. Unconditional love and trust are also positive outcomes of this massage. Infant or toddler massage is great for healthy children ranging from the newborn phase to age 3. The massage therapist will teach you as the parent or guardian the massage routine and will simply be there to guide you as you learn and teach your child appropriate touch. What a great bonding experience for you and your little one!
Body wraps are a great way to treat yourself! The benefits of natural mud are endless. Dead Sea mud reduces inflammation and has desensitizing and healing properties whereas, Sedona French red clay is anti-aging with anti-oxidants and will purge toxins from the body. For this spa treatment, the client is properly draped, the body is dry brushed to open the skin's pores then warm mud is massaged and absorbed all over the body. The client is then wrapped in a heat retaining plastic covering and left alone to relax or even take a nap! The therapist will return to the room to remove the mud with warm towels and you can enjoy the soothing effects the mud has had on the body and skin. Ahhh, what a treat!
Body scrubs are best for those with dry, flaky skin or someone who just needs a pick me up! The brown sugar removes the top layers of the skin, therefore restoring moisture to the body. Warm brown sugar is applied gently to each part of the body then scrubbed to bring back the skin's natural glow. The therapist will use warm towels to remove the sugar from the body and you will be left feeling invigorated and silky smooth.
Ear candling, also known as Indian Cones is an ancient comforting practice used to encourage proper ear and sinus function. Ear candles are not intended to remove anything from the body; however, ear wax or debris may be drawn into the candle during the treatment. Ear candling is not a cure all for ear issues but some benefits may include reduced sinus or ear infection, relief from sinus congestion or headaches and softened ear wax. The ear candling process includes inserting a tapered, hollow, beeswax cone into the outer ear canal then lighting it on fire! Be amazed at how the candle creates a vacuum to loosen ear wax the body cannot naturally remove itself.
Paraffin wax is excellent for alleviating pain, relaxation and relieving stress. It permeates the deeper muscles and joints and leaves your skin feeling extra soft and moisturized. This treatment could be good for anyone who works with their hands, has arthritis, achy joints or dry skin. Hands or feet are washed, scrubbed with sugar then massaged with lotion before getting gently dipped into hot wax. After a nice coating of wax is established, the hands or feet are wrapped and placed in mitts to retain warmth. Lastly, the client can sit back and relax until the wax is ready to be lifted.
Simply delightful!
